The CyberSocial Committee is also pleased to present an afternoon workshop at 1:00 PM to showcase the progress underway at the IBM Centre for Advanced Studies at the University of New Brunswick. The Director of the Centre Dr. Ken Kent will present an update on the ambitious UNB and IBM collaboration for the Next Generation Java Virtual Machine supporting Multi-core Processing.

This development is international in scope and will deliver a ground breaking enabling technology that is expected to pave the way for a new wave of high performance computing for Internet services. This is very big for the industry and it is unfolding right here in NB.

Our afternoon Workshop will also feature Kelly Ashfield from the UNB office of Research Services explaining the support mechanisms available to foster industry collaboration with UNB and other research activities.

Funding to support industry collaborations will be outlined via Richard Isnor of NSERC and Ian Baird of MITACS. These scenarios are favoured and UNB has been very active as a consequence in the Moncton Community.

Event attendees are also welcome to take a “Minute at the Mic” to announce anything you feel may be of interest to our members.

Cyber Social’s Monthly Networking Event is on November 9th, 2011

The Corporate Trade Network ~ Launch Event
